CAMBRIDGE
I love Cambridge, England, for myriad reasons. Decades ago, I studied here, at Homerton College. Also, it’s beautiful, the weather is temperate, and it’s bicycle-friendly. Also, I’m from England and feel at home in the culture. To be back in Cambridge, even for only eight short months, was wonderful. My sincerest thanks to my husband, who knew I wanted to live here one more time and made it happen, and to Churchill College, with whom we stayed and who made us so welcome.
Cambridge has drawn visitors and scholars for centuries. Most stay for a short time—long enough to admire its stunning architecture and vibrant intellectual life. Few find their way off this extraordinary, beaten path. Cambridge: Portrait of a Place looks at Cambridge as both a museum and a living entity. It is my honest, authentic portrait of a place.
The project contains about 150 photographs, which will be published, with commentary, as a book.
