This building, built in 1903, replaced the previous building that was destroyed in a fire. It housed Hoffer’s Novelty Store, selling this and that for five and ten cents a piece. By the 1950s, it was being used by other businesses, including Mauer Hardware and the restaurant C&M Dairy Store. The second floor was the Getter Family dental offices from 1930 to the 1980s.
The Hoffer building has been completely renovated with affordable apartments are upstairs and commercial space on the ground floor. The Dead Canary Brewing Company is opening for business soon.
